Very early this morning we visited the Basilica again, while it was very quiet and before the first of the days Masses.

And a few photos of our later wanderings around Padua, discovering new streets and seeing another side to the city from the less well kept areas we had seen before:
Our wanderings took us back to the more central area of the city, to the Palazzo della Ragione.
The Palazzo is a long building which is home to covered markets on the ground floor and, historically, to the town and justice administration on the upper floor(s). Outdoor stalls also surround the Palazzo. Markets have been held in and around the Palazzo since the 12th century.
