Today should have been and easy day, but for some reason it wasn't.
Last night we studied the route and saw that the first 8 or so kilometres were alongside a very busy road and decided that we would bus those - which we did. And we didn't miss anything as the we could see the path from the bus. But even though we shortened the walk it still felt long.
Maybe we were just tired, but what a wonderful feeling it was to reach our destination this afternoon and shower, do a bit of hand washing, and relax.

The bus dropped us off at Wilburgstetten which is where the road section went to. We found a bakery and had a second breakfast before starting our walk for the day.

From there we spent the day walking through forests - initially through a pine forest but the rest were a mix of trees. Between the forest sections we were out to the open farmland. All of the walk in the forests included hill work.
Even though we're still seeing areas of cropping the landscape is quite different from the vast cropping areas we walked through earlier on. Small settlements, or farming communities, are dotted around, many producing stock food such as hay or silage, and there are far more stands of trees on and around the farmland.

We shouldn't have seen these beehives. We only saw them because we took the wrong track for a while ...so we actually saw them twice.

Fremdingen is quite a sizable village, we only saw the fringe of it, but it has no accommodation which is why we had to walk on another 3 kilometres. Accommodation, or the lack of, is what often dictates how far we walk.
We stopped at St Gallus Katholische Pfarrkirche in Fremdingen for a while before walking on. What an amazing, beautiful, little church.

We spotted a Via Romea Germanica stamp in the church so stamped our passports before carrying on our way to Raustetten, a very small community, but it does have a country hotel where we're staying tonight.
