The rest of the day was spent exploring the city, walking 16 kilometres. It was 7° and cloudy when we set out at 9am, a real bone-chilling cold, but the cloud cleared at 1pm and the afternoon was quite warm, it got up to 16°.
Hamburg is full of waterways, and is a city of bridges, with more than 2500. We walked over so many today. It's a fabulous city to explore by foot.
