We had a leisurely morning breakfasting in Helga's house before setting off as we knew it wasn't going to be a very long day.
The whole day was lovely, perfect temperature for walking and the route was easy. We skirted around 2 small settlements, although one must be bigger than the other as the first one was Kleinwelsbach and the second one was Großwelsbach.

We also skirted a bigger village, Thamsbrück, just walking through some of the outer streets. We had a stop here at a picnic table in a sports area as we needed to do some emailing and send a message on WhatsApp.
Before we left home we very quickly made some accommodation bookings so that we could settle in to walking and carrying our packs, day after day, without having to organise accommodation as well. Now we are planning as we go, trying to have a week to ten days of accommodation arranged in advance.

We had about 2 or 3 kilometres walk into the centre of Bad Langensalza. Just as we walking in the outer streets we came across a farmer's stall. She was selling a selection of vegetables and strawberries. I quickly lined up to buy a large punnet of strawberries, stopping to eat them just a few metres up the street after giving them a brief wash with some of our water. They were so good.
Then we were in the centre of town looking for our accommodation, it can be a bit of a mission at times. Bad Langensalza has some lovely buildings with gorgeous detail.
We tried to visit the Katholische St Marien Kirche, St Mary's Catholic Church, but sadly it was locked.

We are staying in the pension on the left of the photo below, and the church just up the street is St Stephan's Lutheran church, it was open.

We had dinner at a restaurant specialising in Thuringian foods. We had the first item on this menu board.

Bad Langensalza is a spa town of 17,500 inhabitants in the Unstrut-Hainich district, Thuringia, central Germany. Bad Langensalza is located in the Thuringian Basin, the fertile lowlands along the Unstrut river. The river Salza flows through the town and joins the Unstrut about 2 km east of the town. Bad Langensalza lies in an unwooded, intensively farmed and largely flat landscape that rises to the west to the Hainich, to the north to the Heilinger Höhen and to the southeast to the Fahner Höhen.
